Midcentury Modern Ranch Residence

Concept

A 1960s brick ranch transformed with mid-century modern influences, focusing on openness, natural light, and material warmth. The design introduces clean architectural updates and a refined palette of wood, brick, and neutral tones to create a cohesive and contemporary living environment.

Project Overview

The Denver Mid-Century Ranch Revival project reimagines a 2,205 sq ft 1960s ranch home in Denver, Colorado, through a mid-century modern lens. The renovation focuses on enhancing natural light, improving spatial flow, and creating a more open living environment. The original galley kitchen was relocated and expanded by removing walls, transforming it into a central, open-concept space. Vaulted ceilings were introduced to increase volume and brightness, while larger openings strengthen the connection to the outdoors.

The layout was further reconfigured to improve functionality, combining two bedrooms into a spacious primary suite with an en-suite bathroom. Natural materials, including wood flooring, walnut cabinetry, and brick, create warmth and texture, while a refinished basement apartment adds flexibility for modern living.
